This fact has consolidated it as a benchmark among green cars, as it has numerous configuration options. The hybrid versions combine an electric motor with another 1.6 of gasoline, to deliver a total of 141 hp. It has an electrical autonomy of 50 km and approves a consumption of 3.4 L / 100km. To this, the Ioniq models add eight years or 200,000 km for the batteries, whichever comes first.

Hyundai Kona Híbrido

After the incorporation of the hybrid variant, the Hyundai Kona is the only SUV on the market that uses gasoline, diesel, electric and hybrid versions.

The latter, has an aesthetic similar to that of the rest of the range while, in the cabin, will incorporate an ECO driving mode combined with a 10.25-inch screen, equipped with a navigator capable of offering tips to save fuel.

As far as mechanics are concerned, the Hyundai Kona is for an atmospheric gasoline engine of 1.6 liters of displacement, with 105 hp of power and 147 Nm of maximum torque. Associated with this mechanic is an electric motor with 43.5 hp and 170 Nm of maximum torque. In total it develops a combined power of 141 hp and 265 Nm of torque.

With regard to approved consumption, it is 3.9 L / 100 km in units with 16-inch wheels and 4.3 L / 100 km in 18-inch ones. Without a doubt, this Hyundai is one of the most recommended hybrid SUVs of the moment.

Honda CR-V Hybrid

The fifth generation of the Honda CR-V lacks diesel engines although, in return, it has welcomed an interesting hybrid version, which can be considered the great rival of the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

From a technical point of view, this Honda uses the i-MMD technology, an acronym for Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive, consisting of four essential parts: a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, an electric propeller, a generator; and a lithium-ion battery, with an approximate capacity of 1 kWh.

This system consists of three operating modes: 100% electric, hybrid and only with the combustion engine. The first can be selected by a button, as long as the battery charge is sufficient. In phases of medium demand, or when there is not enough energy in the battery, the hybrid mode, which uses the thermal engine to generate electricity, comes into action; however, as soon as you go on the road, it is normal for the thermal propeller to move the wheels alone.

In general, driving the Honda CR-V hybrid does not show differences compared to any other automatic vehicle, although it does not equip a gearbox as such. The feeling of acceleration is in line with its 184 horsepower.

Kia Niro: la opción lógica

The thermal engine is a 1.6 of 105 hp; while the electric can move the car alone and helps the first in moments of high acceleration, adding together 141 hp of maximum power. The hybrid variant of this great premium British SUV competes against the best in the segment, such as the Porsche Cayenne or the BMW X5. Its mechanics deliver a combined power of 340 hp, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.7 seconds despite having a weight that exceeds two tons. Its interior can be configured with five or seven seats and is available in Spain at a price that starts at 99,300 euros.

The Range Rover Sport is not a light or cheap car, but it is undoubtedly one of the best SUVs on the market. And it is because it unites a great behavior on asphalt with some possibilities in the field outside of series, without giving up luxury and a refined ride comfort. It has an aluminum body of 4.85 meters long and almost 1.9 meters wide, which allows it to offer up to 7 seats.

With respect to a Corolla, its occupants are seated a few centimeters higher and the boot capacity increases by 17 liters compared to the five-door body.

Toyota Prius

Its hybrid propulsion system is what gave it fame, but in its access version the power of the combustion engine has decreased from 136 to 122 hp, which is now less noticeable inside the cabin. With this they have reduced their performance a little by increasing the test from 0 to 100 km / h by two tenths, but above all, the consumption has fallen, remaining at a figure of 3.3 liters in combined cycle. In parallel to this, the battery capacity has been increased, which together with an improvement in energy regeneration has allowed the Prius to circulate for a longer time in fully electric mode. In addition, it is also available with all-wheel drive versions.

Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla has the honor of being the best selling car in the world and in history. This compact, which has returned in 2019 after 12 years of absence, is marketed in Spain with two hybrid versions, with 122 and 180 hp, which have 598 and 581 liters of luggage respectively.

The Lexus compact has been with us since 2011, but has received periodic updates. Externally, the CT 200h now has a more energetic image thanks to more sporty bumpers, a larger grill and headlights with LED daylight. Although its main feature is its hybrid engine, which still has the same 1.8-liter engine attached to an electric motor, which together offer 136 hp, but with enough torque to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h for 10.3 seconds . Fuel consumption is low, especially in the city. The automatic change of this Lexus favors these adjusted consumption, however, it is detrimental to driving sensations.

Lexus UX

This SUV of five doors and 4.50 meters is located below the NX, and shares a platform with the Toyota C-HR -the denominated GA-C-. Unlike the Toyota, the Lexus uses a mechanic that, although it is also hybrid, is much more powerful: in total, it develops 184 hp. To do this, it uses a 2.0 atmospheric gasoline engine with 145 hp and an electric one with 109 hp.

All UXs employ a multi-ratio automatic transmission, and is available with both rear and all-wheel drive. For the latter, the UX uses an electric motor that drives the rear wheels when necessary. Therefore, it is not an especially effective model to overcome delicate situations in the field. This system can be a little more helpful, for example, to move on very slippery roads that, for example, are snowy. The UX is available with five trim levels: Eco – the only one available only with front-wheel drive -, Business, Executive, F-Sport and Luxury.
