From a technical point of view, this Honda uses the i-MMD technology, an acronym for Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive, consisting of four essential parts: a 2.0-liter gasoline engine, an electric propeller, a generator; and a lithium-ion battery, with an approximate capacity of 1 kWh.
This system consists of three operating modes: 100% electric, hybrid and only with the combustion engine. The first can be selected by a button, as long as the battery charge is sufficient. In phases of medium demand, or when there is not enough energy in the battery, the hybrid mode, which uses the thermal engine to generate electricity, comes into action; however, as soon as you go on the road, it is normal for the thermal propeller to move the wheels alone.
In general, driving the Honda CR-V hybrid does not show differences compared to any other automatic vehicle, although it does not equip a gearbox as such. The feeling of acceleration is in line with its 184 horsepower.
The thermal engine is a 1.6 of 105 hp; while the electric can move the car alone and helps the first in moments of high acceleration, adding together 141 hp of maximum power.
